My solo cruise on the Princess Cruises ship Royal Princess arrived in Suva, the Capital city of Fiji. Suva was the 33rd capital city I had visited and I planned a DIY day trip rather than a formal shore excursion, although there were lots of options. Before that I took the opportunity to tour a bit more of the ship as Royal Princess was quite quiet during the day. I accidentally found the gym!! Then I walked it from the port along the waterfront heading past Fiji's Parliament and Government buildings to Thurston Gardens and the Fiji Museum, both of which I would recommend as things to do in Suva. After that I headed back into the city, passing Suva's Carnegie Library. I like the story of these and have seen a few on my travels including in my home town of Darwen, England. Once back on the ship I enjoyed the late afternoon on my cabin balcony, watching the sun set over Suva Harbour, which as in Lautoka yesterday has a stunning backdrop of mountains. Then there was a busy night of entertainment all around Royal Princess, so don't miss even more things to see and do on a Royal Princess cruise.
