The BEST flooring for inside your shed IG704 Installing Swisstrax

My whole garage is Swisstrax, so today I'm walking through why I chose it, what I like and don't like, and installing it in my shed too. I run the Ribtrax Smooth Pro tiles (16"x16", 3/4" thick) in slate gray with jet black borders. Backstory: my garage originally had epoxy, and it failed twice — hot tires, chemicals, and groundwater/concrete issues can wreck even a properly-applied epoxy floor, and my parents had the same experience at a different house growing up. Swisstrax snaps together without adhesive, so if I ever moved I could take it with me, and damaged tiles are easy to swap — I've ruined 20-30 over the years (mostly from floor jacks stretching tiles as they roll) and just recycle the old ones into projects like this shed instead of tossing them. For the shed, I pulled a handful of damaged tiles out of the garage, snapped in fresh replacements there, then used the old ones in the shed — cutting around obstacles with a cordless jigsaw and a fine wood blade. Big picture: Swisstrax isn't more or less durable than epoxy, just differently durable — it handles engine hoists, quick jacks, and dropped fluid fine, but floor jacks in particular will stretch tiles over time (a flat steel plate under the jack solves that). Water and rinseless runoff drain right through the tile channels and out with the garage's natural slope, and it's genuinely nicer to walk on barefoot than cold concrete.
