Grove City College v. Bell – A Retrospective

Pressure from the federal government to submit to unwarranted regulation in the 1970s and 1980s spurred Grove City College to fight for its independence before the U.S. Supreme Court in the landmark Grove City College v. Bell lawsuit. As a result of the case, the College does not accept any federal student loans or grants, which frees it from government influence over its academic programs and finances. It is one of a few institutions in the United States to refuse all federal funding.
