This video sheds light on a significant issue in public health is antibiotic resistance.
It describes that some bacteria that can cause serious illness are evolving resistance to the majority of regularly used antibiotics.
In the community or amongst hospital patients, antibiotic-resistant pathogens can spread from person to person.
In order to eradicate bacteria that can lead to illness and disease, video stated that antibiotic drugs are utilized and antibiotics may now be used to successfully treat many diseases that earlier claimed lives. It clarifies that some standard antibiotics are no longer effective because bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics cannot be treated with them or eliminated by them. In the presence of an antibiotic, they can endure and even grow. Most bacteria that cause infections are capable of developing resistance to at least some drugs. Antibiotic resistance is a severe issue because some bacteria are now resistant to practically all of the widely accessible antibiotics. This is a critical public health issue since these bacteria can lead to serious illness.
This video also describes the basis for antibacterial combination and its effect on spectrum, dose, adverse effects and resistance.
Superinfection is also discussed in this video which is an infection that develops concurrently with another infection and is typically brought on by opportunistic bacteria that are resistant to the antimicrobial treatments used to treat the initial infection.
Antibacterial medications are made to kill germs, but none of them completely eradicate them.
By eliminating the regular flora, which produce antibacterial compounds and compete for vital nutrients, the normal flora's inhibitory influence is removed. This enables the unrestricted growth of bacteria and fungi that could be harmful.
The likelihood that a single drug-resistant microbe would grow and cause infection increases with the amount of broad-spectrum antibiotic used and the length of the therapy.
