Relaxing One Color Painting ✧ My Favorite Watercolor Sea Trick

Slow down and enjoy a relaxing paint-with-me moment as I create a tiny watercolor sea with a little sailboat, using just one color! This peaceful miniature painting process is all about enjoying the simple, satisfying feeling of watching watercolor flow, layer by layer. Using only Prussian blue, I’ll build this monochrome seascape from a soft sky to dramatic waves and a tiny boat facing the storm. Painting with one color is such a relaxing way to explore watercolor and a great exercise for watercolor beginners to practice values, water control and layering. This painting is also part of my Inktober art challenge, where I create one tiny painting every day in October based on a different prompt. Today’s prompt is “Flimsy”, which inspired this tiny boat facing huge waves. You can simply watch and unwind, or grab your own paints and follow along as an easy watercolor tutorial.
