Meet Multaqa: A design program between Base39 in Sharjah & FROMM in Doha/Milan

Back in April, during Milan Design Week Fuori Salone, one of the most important design weeks in the world, Base39 at SRTIP signed a partnership with FROMM. We have been working tirelessly since then to launch our first partnership program, Multaqa: a furniture design program with five UAE-based designers, creating a collection inspired by Sharjah and made entirely in the UAE. Through our Creative Venture programs, we have built a unique program with FROMM, a regional and global powerhouse that has designed similar programs before, launching one in Doha at Msheireb, which they call home, and at their showroom in Milan. What makes this program unique is that it goes beyond an ad hoc initiative. It also seeks partners and buyers to support the collection and launch it as a world premiere at Milan Design Week 2027. It is an ambitious yet tangible project that aims to make Sharjah a true hotspot for design innovation. This panel shows who Base39 and FROMM are, how and where it all began, and where we are inviting you to take part in this journey.
