Reefer trailer came unhooked on I-75, passed the driver, and rolled over full of eggs.
Driver was coming around a curve on I-75 when something let loose. Said he heard a loud noise, looked to his right, and saw his own trailer passing him. Landing gear was completely ripped out, which made this recovery a lot harder since we didn't have much to grab onto.
Trailer had around 25,000lb of liquid eggs on board, showed 27,000lb on the nose once we got it lifted since the load had shifted forward. Rain made everything slippery, and the egg liquid leaking out didn't help, had to throw down oil dry just to keep our footing.
Had a plan to do a fancy floating snatch block setup, aborted that pretty quick and kept it simple instead. This one had me nervous, those reefer trailers are tougher than a dry van but still fragile for the weight they carry. If it would have ripped open, that would have been a real mess.
Got it upright and out of there safely. State trooper told us this exact curve sees a rollover almost every week, that's why they roughed up the pavement there.
