THE ORKHON STONES — What the Stones Remember
Carved into stone more than a thousand years ago, the Orkhon Inscriptions still carry the voice of the ancient Turkic world.
This song tells the story behind those words — the rise and fall of the Göktürk Khaganate, the struggles of the Turkic people, and the lessons left for generations to come.
At the heart of the story stand three remarkable figures:
Kül Tigin — the warrior who defended his people.
Bilge Khagan — the ruler who carried the burden of the state.
Tonyukuk — the wise statesman whose counsel helped guide the Turkic Khaganate through war and hardship.
The stones do not speak of glory alone.
They speak of mistakes.
They speak of unity.
They speak of losing one's way — and finding it again.
“A people who forget their past may lose their future.”
From the endless grasslands of Central Asia to the words carved in the Orkhon Valley, their memory still survives.
Listen to the stones.
Remember the past.
