The new systems clutter the game a lot, especially for multiplayer, but a few like the arms market and logistical rework I feel really make the game a lot more engaging and fun. As for Trial of Allegiance itself, honestly it just seems overall to be silly. Pick a minor nation, and by the end of the tree you'll be the emperor of some ludicrious made up nation and you'll have enough buffs that all of your soldiers are superhuman.
