🔇 Please turn on subtitles! This video has no voiceover — just the process and on-screen text.
If your NUX DP-2000 sometimes ignores your hits — you're not alone. Many users experience pad dropouts: you strike clearly, but no sound triggers. The culprit? Excessive chassis vibration due to the unit’s lightweight plastic body, which interferes with piezo sensor accuracy.
In this video, I show a simple, reversible, and low-cost modification that dramatically improves reliability:
Uses common automotive vibration-damping material (5 mm thick)
No drilling, soldering, or internal modifications
Fully removable — warranty remains intact (serial number and labels stay visible)
✅ Results after 2 days of real-world use:
— Near-zero pad dropouts
— Much more consistent and responsive triggering
— Weight increased from 2.8 kg to 3.7 kg, further reducing resonance
💡 Future upgrade: I plan to 3D-print a custom bottom cover for a clean, finished look.
If you’re struggling with unreliable pads on your DP-2000 — give this mod a try. And maybe, just maybe, NUX will consider adding better damping in a future revision 😉
