From a Cold Wild Camp to a Tough Kinder Scramble | Kinder Skyline Day 2

After a cold and rather sleepless night wild camping on Kinder Scout, Steph and I wake up to an absolutely beautiful sunrise — but we've still got a long way to go! 🥾 Welcome to Day 2 of our Kinder Skyline adventure. We pack up camp and continue our journey around Kinder, carrying all our camping gear on our backs. The weather couldn't make its mind up. After such a cold night, the day gradually gets warmer and by the afternoon we're walking in the heat. Along the way we spot smoke from another moorland fire in the distance, discover some wonderful and rather strangely shaped rocks, and eventually face one of the toughest parts of our day — the scramble up Fairbrook Naze. One of the highlights of the day was hiking across the open moor, surrounded by beautiful purple heather covering Kinder. At this time of year the heather brings so much colour to the moorland, making this part of our Kinder Scout hike particularly beautiful. There are tired legs, plenty of laughs, fantastic Peak District scenery and a few reminders of adventures I've had on Kinder in the past.
