We Grew Up by the River is a song about growing up on the North Shore of New Brunswick — where the river, the woods, the seasons, and the traditions became part of who you were. It remembers picking fiddleheads and hazelnuts, eating rainbow trout and salt-cod fish cakes, Uncle Jack bringing home moose meat, smelt fishing, running the river and coming out at Tide Head, sneaking into the drive-in, sliding at Sugarloaf Park, and summer nights filled with the Salmon Festival parade, fair, and fireworks. It’s about the small things you don’t realize are important until years later — and the way a place can stay with you long after you’ve left it. If you grew up around Campbellton, Tide Head, the Restigouche, or anywhere along New Brunswick’s North Shore, I hope something in this song feels familiar. We grew up by the river. Some part of us never really left. If the song brings back a memory, tell me about it in the comments. #NewBrunswick #Campbellton #NorthShoreNB #CanadianMusic #Restigouche #GrowingUpCanadian #OriginalMusic
