He Doubled His Wife’s Life Insurance… Then She Was Found Dead | Kelley Clayton | True Crime Doc

In September 2015, Kelley Clayton, 35, was killed in her home in Caton, New York. A year earlier, her husband, former Elmira Jackals hockey player Thomas Clayton, had doubled her life insurance to $1 million. Her husband said he came home from a poker game and found her. Their seven-year-old daughter told the sheriff a man had been in the house. Investigators found no forced entry, and a borrowed phone call from that poker game led them to a man Clayton never mentioned. This is the full story of the Kelley Clayton murder case, from the first 911 call to the Steuben County investigation, the arrests of Thomas Clayton and Michael Beard, two murder trials, the life sentences, and the appeals. It covers the phone records, the truck swap, the life insurance policy, and why an appeals court split on the murder-for-hire charge. Like the video if this case kept you hooked.
