Satpura
Nestled in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, Pachmarhi is the state's only hill station. Perched at an altitude of 1,067 meters in the Satpura Range, it is a serene haven known for its lush green forests, ancient caves, cascading waterfalls, and breathtaking viewpoints.
Top Tourist Places in Pachmarhi
Dhoopgarh: The highest point in the Satpura Range (1,352 meters), famous for its mesmerizing, panoramic sunrise and sunset views over the rolling hills.
Bee Falls (Jamuna Prapat): A stunning 35-meter waterfall that plunges into a natural pool, ideal for a refreshing swim. It gets its name from the buzzing sound the cascading water makes from a distance.
Jata Shankar Caves: A sacred natural cave shrine hidden inside a deep ravine, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The rock formations closely resemble the matted hair (jata) of Lord Shiva and the serpent Sheshnag.
Pandav Caves: Ancient rock-cut caves surrounded by manicured gardens. Legend states the Pandavas spent part of their exile here, though archeologists trace them back to Buddhist monks (6th–9th century AD).
Handi Khoh: A dramatic, 300-foot-deep V-shaped gorge enclosed by dense forests, shrouded in local folklore and striking geological beauty.
Apsara Vihar & Rajat Prapat: A picturesque natural swimming pool (Apsara Vihar) connected via a short trail to Rajat Prapat (Silver Fall), a massive 107-meter single-drop waterfall.
Reechhgarh: A unique, massive natural amphitheater of rocks and crevices that offers fantastic short treks and exploration for adventure lovers.
