6 Days Chasing Elk in Colorado | Public Land DIY Hunt

Six Days of DIY public land elk hunting in Colorado's Backcountry. This was my first elk hunt and my first taste of backcountry hunting, chasing bugling bulls through the high country at 10,000-12,000 feet. We dealt with rain, hail, wind, cold, elevation, long days in the mountains and some incredible elk encounters along the way. When the weather cooperated, the elk were talking. When it didn't, we had to grind. This is the full story of the trip - the good, the bad, close encounters, mistakes, and everything in between. The hunt was not guided and it was all public land.
