In this tutorial, I show how to control a car vehicle instrument cluster over CANBus using an Arduino Nano and an MCP2515 CAN bus module. What this means is that I can send messages to set the speedometer and tachometer gauges to any arbitrary values, activate the indicators, empty or fill the fuel tank level, the coolant, and turn warning lights on the dashboard on and off. Although the CAN data messages I send are specific to this model/manufacturer, the same basic approach should work for any car manufactured in the last 20 years or so - you just need to look up the appropriate pins for the CAN H/L wiring, and the message IDs for the data values you want to set. 00:00:00 - 00:01:26 Introduction and Demonstration 00:01:27 - 00:03:27 Project Overview 00:03:28 - 00:05:36 MCP2515 CAN Controller 00:05:37 - 00:07:19 Connecting the Instrument Cluster 00:07:20 - 00:09:59 Wiring Diagram 00:10:00 - 00:27:17 Arduino Code Listing 00:27:18 - 00:29:19 Conclusion and Wrapup More details about all of the projects featured on this channel can be found at Patreon:   / playfultech   And you can join the discussion on the Discord:   / discord   #Arduino #arduinoproject #CANBus #MazdaMX5 #MCP2515 #Electronics
