The iPhone 18 Pro is assembled in India, yet you pay ₹50,887 more for it than an American does. So where does that extra money go? On launch day one Mumbai buyer skipped the Indian store and flew to Dubai. Even with the ticket and visa, it worked out cheaper. The factory is here. The discount is somewhere else. In this episode we open the bill line by line and call it the Gap ki Parchi. The phone costs ₹1,64,900 in India and $1,199 in the US. India exported ₹1.5 lakh crore of iPhones in FY25, about 70% of all its smartphone exports. So why didn't Made in India make it cheaper? We check every suspect: cheap labour at Foxconn and Wistron, GST, import duty, Apple's own price list, and the 'no-cost' EMI. The biggest line is not the one everyone blames. Sources: Rest of World, Outlook Business, Counterpoint Research, the PIB Budget release and the RBI 2013 circular. Every claim, sourced in one place: https://abhishekbirdawade.github.io/a...
