She Finally Flew Like an Eagle! | Michelle's First Glider Flight

Michelle had a glider flight on her bucket list—and on a beautiful Saturday, she finally got her chance to fly! The soaring forecast looked promising, but finding thermals turned out to be a real challenge. A “blue hole” over the airfield made things even trickier. Even under the clouds the thermals were appearing one moment and disappearing the next. After a high tow and a long glide across the blue hole searching for lift, things finally started to work. I managed to find enough rising air to keep us soaring, and what could have been a short flight turned into a 31-minute adventure. We talked about how eagles use rising air to stay aloft—and by the end, Michelle got to experience what it’s like to fly like an eagle. No engine, just lift, sky, and a whole lot of fun!
