First Laps: Cahuilla Creek MX Main Track

First laps of the day in breezy conditions at Cahuilla Creek MX. Tag along for the initial sight lap, first jump attempts, mini chasing, FM506 roost and more 2025 Kawasaki KX450 testing. Cahuilla track crew did a great job considering the weather and local power outages, but their layouts often have me scratching my head. What began as a natural hillside track has morphed into a more aggressive jump-laden circuit. Tabletops have been replaced with do-or-die doubles, often with peaky landings and mellow take-offs. Case in point, why knuckle-up what was a perfectly fine tabletop before the finish line section? "Real motocross - at its best" is the track slogan, but now the track feels more like supercross than traditional motocross...
