Hi and welcome to another adventure, today I'm joined by ‪@TheOutdoorswithTonyNoble‬ and ‪@RickTOutdoorAdventure1969‬ for an epic mountain wild camp on Sca Fell, Englands 2nd highest mountain. We started the adventure near Eskdale and headed off following the River Esk towards Great Moss, this is a beautiful section of the walk, following the river and exploring the many waterfalls and passing Lingcove Bridge, a lovely old stone bridge. As we cleared the Great Moss we headed towards Cam Spout Crag, this is where the real climbing starts, heading up towards Mickledore was steep but nothing compared to Foxes Rake, this is a small gully just before the scree of Mickledore starts. Taking a left up the gully to Foxes Tarn, this was a challenging climb with big packs but taking your time we soon got to the top safely. At Foxes Tarn we filled our water bottles, ready for our camp at the summit, we then headed up the final section of the climb. As we reached the summit of Sca Fell we were just loosing the light so we quickly looked for somewhere to pitch the tents. Just off the summit we found a nice flat section looking down towards Slight Side, this would be our way down the following day and my 100th Wainwright. The Snugpak Scorpion 2 went up no bother, as usual, and I was soon inside getting warm and dry. All set up it was time for a warm drink and some food, noodles tonight with cooked chicken, lovely. After our tea we got the camera out and grabbed some images before setting up a timelapse and getting our heads down. The morning brought one of the best sunrises I have ever seen so once again we grabbed the cameras, this makes it all worth while. Tents dropped we then made our way home, ticking off Slight Side on our way and of course leaving no trace…….. Hope you enjoy the adventure.
