Divided We Fall | Progressive Alternative Rock | Lyric Video

"Divided We Fall" is a progressive alternative rock anthem about unity, resilience, and the strength we find in one another. Through the imagery of candles and sparks, the song explores how fragile hope can be when we stand alone—and how brightly it can burn when we come together. This is a prototype of a song I wrote for my daughter Jessie to sing. Original lyrics © John Thompson. Music and vocals created with Suno AI. A single candle Though it may burn bright Is easily extinguished By a passing breath of air But joined with others Their flames reach ever higher Burning strong together Giving warmth and light If divided we stand Then divided we fall And the dreams that we cherished May be lost to us all But if we pull together Our hope will stay strong And we'll keep moving forward Until peace we have won A single spark Left to its own Will quickly fade away As if it had never been But if nurtured and cared for And given fuel to burn It can grow even stronger As it's fanned into a flame If divided we stand Then divided we fall And the dreams that we cherished May be lost to us all But if we pull together Our hope will stay strong And we'll keep moving forward Until peace we have won When darkness gathers And hope is nearly gone I'll stand beside you Until the coming dawn I'll watch your back And you'll watch mine My victory will be yours And yours will be mine If divided we stand Then divided we fall And the dreams that we cherished May be lost to us all But if we pull together Our hope will stay strong And we'll keep moving forward Until peace we have won
