John Drysek begins his talk by defining deliberative governance (0.30) and pointing out some clear supporters of deliberative governance (1.10). He explains that deliberative democrats believe democracy can be improved upon (5.00). Citizen forums, or micro forums, involving lay citizens can be beneficial in an environmental context (7.30). He provides examples for climate justice and green radicalism (14.30). He explains that he looks at network governance processes that sometimes sit alongside the UN process and sometimes are completely divorced from it (17.30). Dryzek concludes by asking how we can link these concepts to understand collaborating governance initiatives (20.50) and explains that deliberative governance is one of the pieces of the puzzle to finding climate change solutions (21.10).
