After two nonstop weeks of working on our new 8.5-acre homestead in Arkansas, our family finally took a much-needed break! Today, we drove about two hours to visit our new Vietnamese friends, Nhân and her family, at their beautiful homestead in the Arkansas countryside. They invited us to celebrate Tết Trung Thu (Mid-Autumn Festival) together, and it turned into such a special day for our entire family. Nhân had everything planned — balloons, lanterns, arts and crafts for the kids, fireworks, and of course, LOTS of Vietnamese food! Janny also brought Chè Thái for everyone to enjoy. After spending the past couple of weeks cleaning trash, removing debris, learning to use our tractor, and working nonstop on our own property, it felt great to step away for a day, let the kids play, meet new friends, and enjoy a little piece of Vietnamese culture here in Arkansas. One of the things we’re loving most about starting this new chapter isn’t just owning land — it’s the people we’re meeting along the way. Next vlog, we’re heading back to our 8.5 acres and getting back to work. There is still A LOT to do as we slowly transform this property into the homestead we’ve been dreaming about.
