New to open source and not sure where to start? This workshop covers who owns the code you write, how to tell whether a project is welcoming to new contributors, and what to know about AI and open source contributions. Taught by Laura Langdon (UC OSPO Network), Will Gearty (Syracuse University), Richard Littauer (CURIOSS), and Karla Padilla (UCSD) for CURIOSS (curioss.org), on October 8, 2026. This recording covers the presentation; the hands-on exercise wasn't recorded, but the checklist is linked in the slides. Slides: https://docs.google.com/presentation/...
