Rise

Based on Lesson 1:9 in Likutey Moharan. Lyrics: Rise *Breslov Blues* [Verse 1] Shine that light of truth, show me the door You and I both know that we've been here before God, You're my essence, God, You're my light But I told lies and deceived, so now I'm stuck in the night But they told me one time that You are close When I call, when I'm lost and confused Can't make sense of it all [Pre-Chorus] It's gotta rise! [Chorus] It's gotta rise! Rise up! Let my prayer break through It's gotta rise! Rise up! Through the right gate to You! It's gotta rise! Rise up! I'm done walking around blind It's gotta rise now Don't leave me behind [Verse 2] Trying to get to the station, that place they call truth Trying to enter the ark before the flood hits the roof Make a door in my darkness that's keeping me trapped You sent me down here, now You gotta help me get back [Chorus] It's gotta rise! Rise up! Let my prayer break through It's gotta rise! Rise up! Through the right gate to You! It's gotta rise! Rise up! I'm done walking around blind It's gotta rise now Don't leave me behind [Verse 3] Where's the Moses to lead me to my promised land? Where's the guy who can show me just where I can stand? Where's the gate I can enter to get back to You? Help my prayer to rise up — and let me rise up too! [Chorus] It's gotta rise! Rise up! Let my prayer break through It's gotta rise! Rise up! Through the right gate to You! It's gotta rise! Rise up! I'm done walking around blind It's gotta rise now Don't leave me behind [Outro] Prayer changes nature, that's what I'm told So let my prayer change my nature, take off my blindfold Sick of groping around for the door back to You So let me find the right door, and then help me walk through
