Bach BWV 721 Chorale Prelude (Have Mercy on Me, O Lord God) Carlo Curley

Carlo Curley submits his unique interpretation of J.S. Bach's "Have Mercy on Me, O Lord God," BWV 721. Curley demonstrates his creative registration as well as his knack for correct tempo and articulation. He truly takes you on a journey! For those who have played this chorale, have you noticed the “Lilt” that Curley has in the left hand? For me, that is so hard to do…and he does it throughout the whole piece! I would have to simply disagree with those that opine that this is a simple piece, chuckle. Lastly, it was the experience of once-in-a-lifetime for me to hear Carlo play this, live, in an evening setting where all the lights had been dimmed. There was not one shred of sheet music anywhere to be seen, and as usual, he was in socks only. Thank You for listening!
