The Yaoguai Yamen EP3 · Borrowed Courage

The magistrate begs the prefecture for twelve taels to fix the roof. Nine days later, the answer comes back in two words: Request denied. Then they send an inspector — the only official who ever served in Nowhere County, and lasted seven days. He is terrified of demons, and the only one he trusts is the eight-year-old demon catcher, who plasters him with talismans. His order: close ten cases before autumn ends, or the yamen is disbanded. The bailiffs go back to the underworld, the cook becomes a cauldron, and the kid goes to an orphanage. The next morning, his locked-up seal is gone, and the old tortoise clerk calmly confesses. He just can't remember where he put it. Zhong Xiaokui spreads her arms in front of him: "I'm a demon catcher. I'll find the thief." She has until nightfall.
