Letting Go Of The Reins - Country Rock Gospel

Today I'm reminded from a devotional, Let Go and Let God, that Our Father is always with us leading. Five strong verses for this are: Joshua 1:9 9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Isaiah 41:13 For I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you. Deuteronomy 31:8 8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” Isaiah 41:10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Psalms 118:6 The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? We know God is with us. We know His promises. But sometimes our fears are louder than our faith. We try to carry burdens that God has already offered to carry for us. There's one part of this song I hope you'll carry into tomorrow: "I don't need to hold tomorrow... when tomorrow's in Your hands." And the other line that gets me: "I tell You I trust You, then take it all back." Because that's the struggle, isn't it? We surrender our worries in prayer, and sometimes five minutes later we're carrying them again. But here's the encouragement from those five scriptures: God doesn't promise that we'll never face another storm. He promises we won't face it without Him. And maybe that's what Let Go and Let God really means. Not that we stop walking, stop trying, or stop caring. We simply stop believing we have to carry everything ourselves. Keep walking with Jesus.
