Featuring distorted MOOG and Korg synth stabs, chugging rhythm guitars add weight and grime to the mix, while punchy drums deliver a hammering intensity that echoes the album’s title. Layered heavy snares and ripping bass create a driving force, complemented by lush synth pads, choirs, and strings that provide thematic depth. Each track plays out like a scene from a film, infused with subtle narratives and atmospheres, enriched with computer trills and live field recordings of lasers, cutters, plotters, printers, and machinery captured at the Kartboy Racing. I was inspired by my youth listening to heavy music from Pantera, KoRn, and Deftones, alongside my passion for dark drum and bass. The discovery of Daft Punk and French electronic music, coupled with 90s shows like Aeon Flux and Animatrix, and classic 80s films such as TRON, Blade Runner, and Back to the Future, deeply shaped my sound. This throwback album pays tribute to my love for synthesizer music from both past and present acts, including Gesaffelstein, Com Truise, Carpenter Brut, Daft Punk, Justice, GosT, and Street Cleaner. The vinyl record for "The Velvet Hammer" features a striking neon yellow and lime green A/B blend, named “Dime Slime” in homage to Dimebag Darrell from Pantera. Each record will have a unique blend and limited to only 250 copies. The front cover showcases the character Huffy Vortex in his synthesizer control center, fully embodying the essence of the music. Surrounded by his gear, he navigates through the crumbling streets of a post-apocalyptic future world. Inside, the two-panel artwork features Huffy Vortex at his home base command center, surrounded by synthesizers, 12 monitor screens, and a complex web of wires, cables, and modular synth cabinets. Each screen displays unique artwork that links back to each track on the album. The back cover features Huffy Vortex on a jet-powered hoverboard, soaring through the city on his quest to reach his love, the cyborg unit D.A.N.A.
