Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel: Does Blaze Dragon's Effect Still Work? (pre-Jan 27th maintenance)

Master Duels had just come out a few days ago, and I was enjoying myself with my friends. I then got ahold of some Salamangreat cards and thought "Know what? So what if they are meta? I like this archetype, favorite from the anime, and I wanna use a better link deck than the starter deck." So I did. That's when I saw that Blaze Dragon didn't have it's special ability. I told Rex (my Salaman-Great Teacher), and we were both wondering if it wouldn't work. I didn't know the ability until I looked it up. For you guys that don't know how this card works, or Yugioh in general, here is it simply: If Blaze Dragon would be destroyed, give up an Xyz material instead (pronounced exceed but with a z instead of a d). If it has none, Xyz summon another copy of Blaze Dragon using this current one as the material. Boom. Reincarnation Xyz Summon. It was only after dueling a cool dude named Krimson Kreamer (go check him out) that I decided to test this, but I went further. I wanted to get out all 4 special boss monsters out on the field together. Pyro Phoenix, Heatleo (temporaily), Emerald Eagle, Violet Chimera, and Blaze Dragon, and that's EXACTLY what I do.
