Doom isn't the villain. He's the cure.

Marvel spent six years making its own deaths reversible. Doom is the first character they have built whose function is to take things away. This is an argument about scarcity: what stakes actually are, why one death in April 2019 carried an entire saga and five deaths in May 2022 carried nothing, and why casting the man whose plan split the timeline as the man who closes it is the most coherent decision Marvel has made in a decade.
