Olive Allen says she was in NFTs from early 2018, back when they were just the ERC-721 standard, and explains and why in the metaverse "there is no gravity." Interviewed by David Cash. Book David to host, moderate, or speak: https://davidcash.ca Olive Allen is a New York-based artist working across painting, 3D, AR, and NFTs. Recorded poolside in November 2021 during NFT.NYC 2021, her third NFT.NYC, she tells David Cash how she came to the space in early 2018, how the event grew from about 200 people to thousands, and what it meant to finally meet The Sandbox team and her collectors in person. They talk about showing work in both the metaverse and physical galleries, making art without the limits of a canvas, the 3D ads taking over Times Square that week, and what to expect from Art Basel Miami.
