Riding an Elephant at Two Tails Ranch

Andrea visits the Two Tails Ranch Animal Conservation and takes a look around at the exotic animals, animal paintings, and artifacts. Two Tails Ranch presents All About Elephants What is All About Elephants? It is an educational program with a cause! Two Tails Ranch offers an inside look into the world of elephants past, present, and future. Offering school programs, clinics, and lectures, it is an up close and personal look at these great creatures as they roam in free-style enclosures. Together, with the team of experts, you can help with their mission to provide care and a home for all needy elephants while learning, teaching, and instilling awareness about them. They also provide an inside look at a variety of other species of animals domestic and exotic. The museum has a large collection of fossils, artifacts, and elephant memorabilia sure to amaze young and old alike. Patricia Zerbini has been requested all over the world to consult on the care and welfare of elephants not only in zoos, but also in nature preserves. She has traveled the globe to work, learn, and help elephants, and while doing so realized that the curiosity and interest of the public and other professionals needed a place where an all-educational program could be developed. So she has started All About Elephants, Inc. with the hope to teach and share her experience and knowledge with elephant lovers worldwide and to INSTILL AWARENESS! Over 300 elephants have come through her ranch over the years to her care, shelter or rehabilitation. While elephants in the wild only have a life expectancy of around 20 years and those in zoos live 30-40, those at All About Elephants are expected to live into their 80's. Some are already well into their 50's and still healthy and happy! Not only because of the outstanding care but also the space available to them that promotes health through good diet and exercise. ALL proceeds go towards caring for the animals in the video. Donate Taking care of elephants isn't cheap! Did you know...each of the elephants eat 250 -300 lbs of hay, 10 -20 lbs of mixed grains, 10 lbs of special elephant pellets, 25 lbs fresh produce, fresh cut bamboo, and elephant grass? Then to top it off, they wash this down with over 100 gallons of water! Talk about a big shopping receipt! Right now, it costs about $100,000 per year per elephant, just for food.
