Ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party’s strategy is becoming a major talking point. Akhilesh Yadav’s response to a question about whether Dimple Yadav could be the party’s Chief Ministerial face has fueled political speculation. He neither rejected nor clearly accepted Dimple’s name. Meanwhile, to woo women voters, the SP has promised ₹40,000 annually under the proposed ‘Stree Samman Samriddhi Yojana’. The party has also promised to reintroduce laptops for Class 12 pass-out female students and revive the Samajwadi Pension Scheme. Akhilesh Yadav also targeted the BJP over women-related issues, referring to the Hathras and Khushi Dubey cases. His remarks about a new meaning of PDA during the press conference also grabbed attention.
