War Comics Homage Covers and History

I thought i would tackle Homage covers in comic books from a different angle by talking about two war comics, Our Army at War #113 and G.I. Combat #148, one is an actual homage to two real life marines, Al Schmid and Leroy Diamond, and the other to General Patton and the 1970 movie that starred George C. Scott. Know of any other examples, please let me know in the comments.
