New to containers and Azure? In this hands-on tutorial I take a tiny Python app from my laptop all the way to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), step by step, nothing skipped. We run the app locally, put it in a Docker container, push the image to Azure Container Registry (ACR), and deploy it to AKS with a Deployment and a Service. Then I play developer: I ship two new versions with zero downtime using a rolling update, roll back with a single command, and even break it on purpose so you can see what ImagePullBackOff looks like and how to fix it. Everything is done by hand in the Azure portal, kept really basic. By the end, I want you to think: "Okay, I can actually do this." 📂 Code, Kubernetes YAML, diagrams and every command (with checkpoints): https://github.com/pratiekbanssal/azu... https://github.com/pratiekbanssal/azu... 🛠️ What you need: • An Azure subscription • Azure CLI, Docker Desktop, kubectl, VS Code, Python ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Intro: what we're building 04:26 Step 1: Run the app on my laptop 05:42 Step 2: Put it in a container (Dockerfile + docker build) 13:37 Step 3: Create ACR, tag and push the image 22:00 Step 4: Create the AKS cluster (and attach ACR) 31:42 Step 5: Deploy to AKS: Deployment + Service 40:52 Step 6: Ship v2 with a rolling update 46:54 Step 7: Ship v3, then roll back 50:05 Bonus: break it on purpose (ImagePullBackOff) 52:22 Step 8: Clean up 52:39 Recap 💸 Don't forget: delete your resource group when you're done, so you don't get a surprise bill. Tried it yourself? Tell me in the comments how it went, or where you got stuck. I read them all. #Azure #Kubernetes #AKS
