A coverage of Club Mahindra's resort at Tungi, which is located about 25 km away from the hill station of Lonavala, between the cities of Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra, India. The property is quite vast and really beautiful indeed. Currently the last 10 km of the road to get there is in quite a bad condition, but they are working on it. From most places in the resort, you get a lovely view of the mountain on which Fort Tungi is located. The reception and front desk itself is a nice design, with a very scenic view of Lake Pawna from a terrace balcony near the reception. There is also a small water fountain and some 'Warli' drawings for people to take photos while checking in. The rooms are located in various different blocks, with each block being named after a bird. There are different types of rooms - hotel units, studio units, one bedroom, two bedroom, etc. In the video you can see photographs of a studio and of a one bedroom unit. The rooms were quite comfortable. The blocks are located quite far from the main area where the reception, activity centre, restaurants, etc. are. So in order to get from place to place there are electric carts (buggies) which take you around. You have to call for one about 10-15 minutes before you need to go. There is also a toy train (it does not run on rails), that connects some of the rooms to the restaurants. This train runs every half an hour. It cannot reach all the blocks of rooms because of the steep paths and sharp turns. The paths that go around the resort are surrounded by grass and plants. There are a whole lot of colourful flowers as well as different species of birds. In the morning hours you can hear the birds chirping as you walk around. In the evening this is replaced by the sounds of the insects and crickets. It really doesn't feel like a hotel, it feels like a nature park. The 2 restaurants - Ripples and Amara - are also very good. Ripples is the main restaurant with Indian cuisine. There is a choice of buffet or a-la-carte. We tried the buffet breakfast and it was a lovely experience. The other restaurant Amara serves Pan Asian cuisine. It has an open air terrace dining area where you can enjoy a view of Lake Pawna while having your meal. It can get a bit chilly at times though! If you do not wish to go to the restaurant for your meals, you have the option of ordering food to your room through their delivery service called Gourmet Express. Each room has a menu card for this and It takes about 30-45 minutes for it to be delivered. The food is prepared in a kitchen and taken to the room on scooters. The activity centre has a lot of indoor and outdoor games/activities. There is a basketball, volleyball and badminton court. There are bicycles and electric scooters that you can hire and ride around the resort property. There are indoor games like table tennis, billiards, carrom, etc. So it becomes quite easy to pass time around here. Near the activity centre, there is a spa and a swimming pool too. The pool is quite large and pretty with trees all around. Some other facilities around the pool are a jacuzzi and a rain-dance. There is a separate shallow pool for children. Overall, Club Mahindra Tungi is a great resort. The staff is quite polite and friendly and willing to help. There were a few minor issues, like less towels, and hot water not coming sometimes, etc. but housekeeping quickly fixed all that. It was great fun to be there and sadly I had limited days, but I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Hope you enjoy it too! I just want to mention that since there are a large number of still images in the compilation, I have added some music clips in the background. I do not own the music in this video. I have just added it so that it does not get too boring. Thank You!
