High Winds Nearly Turned Us Around | Donaldson Peak & Mount Church | Idaho 12ers

High winds nearly turned us around on some of Idaho’s toughest 12ers — but we found a way to make it happen. In this Gygantor Adventures episode, we take on Donaldson Peak and Mount Church, two of Idaho’s iconic 12,000-foot peaks. High winds made the steep headwall a serious challenge, and for a while, turning around looked like the wisest option. The ridge traverse and Church headwall still had plenty of wind and exposure to deal with, but conditions gave us enough of a window to continue. After working our way across the ridge, we finally bagged Mount Church and completed both summits.
