808 Drum Machine Sounds From a Casio? : The Rhythm Sounds of the Casio CTK 6250 : Making Beats

If someone told me that you can get 808 drum machine sounds from a Casio, I would think they were crazy. However, the rhythm sounds of the Casio CTK 6250 are quite impressive, especially for a keyboard in this price range. In this video I demonstrate making beats with the Casio CTK 6250. There are many drum sounds in this keyboard, and many of them are surprisingly good quality. As I mention in the video, I would never suggest that a Casio is as good as a classic TR 808 drum machine. However, the 808 sounds are quite good, and certainly very useful if you want to create that classic 80s sound, but don't have thousands of dollars to buy an 808. I plan to post more videos looking at the Casio CTK 6250. It is basically a very simple workstation. If you can find one, get it. I paid less than $300 for mine, brand new. A real bargain. Some people prefer DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) but I am a hardware guy. On this channel I take a look at technology, both old and new (although mostly retro). If you are into synths, drum machines, tape decks, VCRs, laser disc players, CD players, reel to reel, old cameras, lenses, microphones, etc, this channel is for you. I post new videos every week.
