Drum Film Evaporator

The Drum Film Evaporator (DFE) is a thin-film evaporation system designed for highly concentrated solutions that form scale and crystallize. The rotating thin-walled drum provides intense heat transfer, while an internal roller bar with spring-loaded spiral elements continuously cleans the heat-exchange surface and transports the removed deposits to the concentrate discharge point. The design combines continuous self-cleaning, controlled concentrate removal, compact roller support for a long drum, heat recovery, and protection against excessive pressure drop. The concept is designed for industrial evaporation, zero discharge (ZLD), high-salinity brines, and other challenging process streams.
