Almost eight hundred years to this day, #Delhi Sultanate ruler #RaziaSultan carved out a piece of history. In fact, two. The first was obviously being elevated to the throne in the early 13th century and becoming thereby the first woman to rule over Delhi. The second feat was notched up with her ascension itself.
Razia Sultan rode elephants and horses. She travelled without a veil, fought alongside men, and defeated the best with her sword. Razia Sultan ruled from 1236 to 1240 AD and in that brief period proved no wall was too high for a woman to climb.
Script and Voiceover: Ziya Us Salam
