While the park is blessedly located about a 15-minute walk from JR Sakuragicho Station, it is a great place to see familiar animals such as lions, giraffes, and black bears. It is a great place to take young children, as feeding tours and animal petting experiences are free of charge. The zoo is open from 9:30 to 16:30 (admission until 16:00). The zoo is closed on Mondays. However, it is open every day in May and October.
