The persistent dry and hot weather proved, once again, to be a great challenge for the engines at Tanfield. No20s first run of the day was spectacular! Unassisted making good work of the 1 In 38 climb into Andrews House. However sparks from No20 proceeded to set the embankment south of the footbridge. Once put out, with assistance from the fire brigade, the remaining services were diesel assisted. Though not the day many were anticipating, we have to commend Tanfield for their hospitality (providing complimentary teas or water) and carrying on to the best of their ability. Credit to all involved 👏 We begin with a spectacular first run of the day recorded between Causey Arch and Andrews House. Apologies for the poor quality, my camera has very limited image stabilisation capabilities... We later see Lucie, the Belgian steam tram, climb into Andrews House with assistance. Later we move to Bobgins level crossing to see No20 steadily make her way back to Andrews House. Finally we finish the day with No 35 helping No20 shunt back into Marely Hill Yard. Thank you all again, all the best and farewell for now.
