The Future of Governance & AI | Ghanshyam Dev | Naresh Harwani

A country’s biggest decisions are about to be made with AI in the room. Are the people making them ready? In this episode of Cool & Candid, recorded in person in Cambridge, Naresh Harwani sits down with Ghanshyam Tiwari, an entrepreneur and political leader who ran for Parliament in Bihar in 2019. He co-founded the edtech company GoodEd Technologies and a non-profit called Parliamentarians with Innovators, has advised Chief Ministers and Parliamentarians, and has worked with organisations including McKinsey, Intel and the Gates Foundation. They talk about how AI is changing the way governments think and decide, why the same question can get a diplomatic answer from one AI and a different one from another, and how breaking the language barrier could help stories from across the world travel further. His message to leaders is simple: be at the front of the AI curve, not behind it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Timestamps 00:00 – 02:34 — Introduction, AI and Ghanshyam’s Background 02:34 – 05:00 — AFOS Life, Nationalism and Core Values 05:00 – 07:30 — Education, Career Choices and Early Influences 07:30 – 10:00 — Harvard, Kellogg and Professional Journey 10:00 – 12:30 — Indian Politics, Elections and Governance 12:30 – 15:00 — AI’s Potential and the Future of India 15:00 – 17:30 — AI, Manufacturing and Economic Transformation 17:30 – 20:00 — Breaking Language Barriers with AI 20:00 – 22:30 — AI, Political Leadership and Democratic Participation 22:30 – 25:00 — Deepfakes, Misinformation and AI Verification 25:00 – 27:30 — AI Accountability, Transparency and Public Policy 27:30 – 29:58 — AI’s Impact on Road Safety, Media and India’s Future New episode of Cool & Candid, out now.
