With the massive solid SubD roof canopy completed, we must now enclose the London Aquatic Center. Part 4 shifts focus from the organic roof down to the intricate, sweeping glass facades that sit beneath it.
This highly technical lesson covers the exact workflow for generating complex, non-standard architectural glazing. We will build an elliptical, tapered glass profile from scratch, and then utilize Rhino's Array Along Curve and Contour tools to generate the precise structural grid frames and mullions required to support it.
⏱️ Key Workflow Timestamps:
00:00 - How to create two ellipses of different diameters in Rhino3D and join them.
02:09 - How to create a tapered glass profile in Rhino3D of elliptical shape.
03:48 - How to make grid frames for elliptical tapered glass of a building using square vertical mullions by using the Array Along Curve Tool in Rhino3D.
08:22 - How to use the contour command to slice the tapered ellipse glass to make Horizontal Mullions for grid frames for glass.
