This game is the closes I have ever come to seeing Barstow defeat Serrano. Once again Barstow’s defense showed how they can help win games. The offense is showing promise and with a few more games of seasoning they should jell into a force that brings results and show that Barstow is a force to be felt with. The defense was where it needed to be one the field, where the ball was, fighting to control Serrano. Serrano had to depend more on their running game as Barstow shut down their passing game. Barstow has room to improve to eliminate the interceptions but the closeness they got to completing clutch passes shows only promising results. Like Granite Hills and Sultana all four teams get results from their running game with Barstow containing big runs. Barstow own running game is one to be worried about when you play against them. Penaltis are the results of the newness of the season and can be worked out at practice. I expect Barstow to repeat the skill and success they achieved last year. They have a program.
