In the Atrahasis epic, which is Akkadian and Babylonian rather than Sumerian, the lesser gods are worn out by heavy labor and the gods decide to create humans to carry that load. ⛏️🌾 The god Enki proposes that one god be slaughtered, and the birth goddess Nintu mixes clay with that god's flesh and blood. 🩸🏺 The victim is We-ila, described as a god who had intelligence, and the text says a ghost, or spirit, came into existence from his flesh as a living sign so the slain god would not be forgotten. 👻🥁 So what the text puts inside humans is a spirit and intelligence from a god, not a weapon. 🧠✨ Fourteen birth goddesses then shape the clay into the first human embryos. 👶🔢 Later in the story, Enki and Nintu set limits on human life, including a demon that snatches babies from their mothers, so that the human population would not grow without bounds. ⚖️👿 A separate Sumerian poem, Enki and Ninmah, also says humans were made to carry the gods' toil. 🧺📜 In this video, we label every text by its language and period and never blend them into one story. 🎬 We didn't find any text listing weapons inside humans, so that claim is left out. 🚫🗡️
