Gammal Fäbodpsalm frän Dalarna - Oskar Lindberg

Oskar Fredrik Lindberg (23 February 1887 – 10 April 1955) From 1906 to 1914 he worked as organist at Trefaldighetskyrkan in Stockholm and from 1914 to 1955 at Engelbrektskyrkan. He taught harmony at the Royal Academy of Music from 1919 to 1952 and was appointed professor there in 1936. He was a member of the Swedish Royal Academy of music from 1926 until his death. One of his most beloved and frequently performed organ works, this arrangement of a Swedish folk melody from Dalarna, is played here in Engelbrekt Church, where he served as organist. At the organ: Anne Kirstine Mathiesen The current organ was built in 1964 by Grönlunds Orgelbyggeri AB, Gammelstad, and is their magnum opus. The organ is mechanical but the fifth manual is electric. It comprises 86 stops and is one of the country's largest church organs. Parts of the previous case were used for the current one.
