More than 55 years after its release in 1971, Country Roads still sounds every bit as beautiful as it did then. It's one of the best songs ever written. You don’t have to be from West Virginia for it to mean something to you. There’s something universal about missing somewhere you belong to, or hearing a song that instantly takes you back to a place or a part of your life. That’s probably why, more than half a century later, people are still singing this song.
