During my last mudlarking outing of 2021, a piece of metal poking out from underneath a stone caught my eye. And what an odd find it was. This is what keeps me coming back to the foreshore - the huge variety of finds from so many different periods of history. Each time I go to the foreshore I feel a sense of anticipation. I know I will find something, even if it is just a small button. Who knows who wore this funny little find. What do you think?
During this outing @Sifinds found some amazing art scattered on the foreshore in the form of messages on bottles (instead of messages in bottles!). The work is signed "Anon - Brighton". I wonder if this is the same Anon. What do you think? https://riveregg.wordpress.com/
After our outing, Simon and I went back to my studio where Simon told me about his top 5 favourite mudlarking finds of 2021. Simon also interviewed me and you can see his video here:-

If you dont yet follow Simon on youtube, I can guarantee you will enjoy his videos, so do check out his channel when you get a chance. Simon is a member of the Society of Thames Mudlarks and so can mudlark in places that I can't!
